THE CIMIC TACTICAL OPERATOR COURSE CONCLUDES IN MOTTA DI LIVENZA

The CIMIC Tactical Operator Course (CTOC 01/26) concluded on 27 March 2026 at the Multinational CIMIC Group Headquarters, located at “Mario Fiore” Barracks in Motta di Livenza.

Delivered over two weeks, the course was designed to prepare military and civilian personnel to operate within the CIMIC Joint Function at tactical level. Its aim was to provide participants with the knowledge, skills and tools required to conduct a broad range of CIMIC activities in support of operations. The training programme combined classroom instruction with practical activities, following an approach focused on the application of concepts, procedures and working methods. This structure allowed participants to strengthen their understanding of CIMIC tasks at tactical level while progressively translating theoretical content into operational practice.

A significant part of the course was dedicated to scenario-based training. Through realistic simulations and the use of live role players, participants were required to apply CIMIC procedures and interact within a complex civil environment designed to reflect the conditions of a NATO Article 5 operation. This training methodology supported both the consolidation of classroom learning and the development of practical judgement in the field. CTOC 01/26 provided an opportunity to deepen the understanding of how CIMIC contributes to the analysis of the civil environment and to the broader support of command decisions in contemporary operational settings.

In this respect, the course highlighted the importance of structured preparation, contextual awareness and practical application in the development of tactical CIMIC capabilities.
